Public Works Reminds You:
- If you have a fire hydrant on your lot it is your responsibility to keep it clear of debris (snow, weeds, trees, tall grass, etc.)
- If you have a sidewalk on your lot it is your responsibility to keep it clear of debris (snow, weeds, trees, tall grass, etc.) According to Town Code 12.04.100: “It is unlawful for the owner, occupant or agent of any lot, parcel or tract of land to permit snow to remain on the sidewalk on the street upon which such lot, parcel or tract of land abuts for a period exceeding twenty-four hours after termination of the falling snow.”
- Please be courteous and respectful of the snow plow operators. Please don’t park in the street right of ways and give them at least five-feet off the edge of the pavement so they can keep the streets completely plowed.
- Maintain your water meter in the winter. It is the account holder’s responsibility to keep it from freezing.
