  • What are the hours of Town Hall?
    Town Hall is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, excluding major holidays. The phone system is always available with twenty-four hour voicemail capabilities.

    How can I drop something off at Town Hall after hours?
    A locked drop box is located to the left of the front (south) door of Town Hall for dropping off payments, correspondence or registration forms.

    Where is Town Hall located?
    Town Hall is located at 178 West Jefferson Avenue. It is on the northeast corner of Jefferson Avenue (Highway 40) and Chestnut Street.

  • Does the Town require pets to be licensed?
    Yes. Dog licenses are $5.00 for animals that have been spayed or neutered and $10.00 for animals that have not been altered. Dog licenses expire each year at the end of May. Proof of a current rabies vaccine must be presented at the Hayden Police Department at the time the license is being purchased. Licenses are also required for potbellied pigs but are not required for cats.

    Does the Town of Hayden offer recycling?
    Drop-off or curbside recycling is included with your trash service fee. The drop-off dumpster is located in the parking lot of the Hayden Mercantile and is just west of the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and 6th Street. The dumpster is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The dumpster is occasionally taken to Steamboat for emptying.

    If you would like to have curbside recycling, please contact the Town Hall at (970)276-3741 for totes to be delivered to your house. Curbside recycling is collected every other week on the same day as your trash collection.

    The recycling dumpster has a bin for fiber products which includes: newspaper, magazines (no phone books or large catalogs), and corrugated cardboard (broken down). There is a separate bin for non fiber products which includes: glass bottles, tin cans (remove label and rinse contents), aluminum cans (do not crush cans), #1 plastic bottles and #2 plastic bottles (bottles must have a neck, no tubs please).

    Curbside recycling is single-stream which means that all recyclables (as listed above) can be placed in one bin together.

    When is trash picked up?
    Waste Management provides trash and recycling service for the Town of Hayden. Trash removal and curbside recycling day is Tuesday for the entire Town. Please have your trash and recycling as close to the street as possible by 7:00 a.m. on your removal day. Recycling is picked up every other Tuesday

    How much are tap fees in the Town of Hayden?
    The water tap fee is $4,800 and sewer tap fee is $2,400 per EQR.

    A: No. It’s free to sign up for online bill payment and to use the service.

    Q: What is Xpress Bill Pay?
    A: Xpress Bill Pay is the company we have partnered with to handle our online bill payment. You access your account from their website, XpressBillPay.com.

    Q: What payment choices do I have?

    A: You can pay your bills with a credit or debit card, or you can transfer funds directly from your checking account.

    Q: What will my bill look like online?
    A: We try to match the look of your paper statement as much as possible, so you’ll find it easy to read your bill onscreen.

    Q: What other information is available?
    A: You can view up to a year’s history of your account online, so you can compare your current bill to a year ago.

    Q: Do I need to pay my bills from my computer?
    A: Not at all. You can pay your bill from anywhere in the world! All you need is access to the Internet through a Web browser. You then log in to your account using your e-mail address and password. No need to worry about late payments if you’re out of town when your bill is due.

    Q: How do I know the payment went through?
    A: After you complete the transaction, you can receive an e-mail receipt to confirm that your payment went through.

    Q: Is my information safe?
    A: Absolutely. All the transactions are handled on secure servers. As long as you don’t give out your password, only you will be able to access your account. Plus, your personal information or e-mail address will not be sold or rented to third parties for marketing purposes without your permission.

    They are held the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 178 West Jefferson Avenue.
